Community Construction Zone: Saturday, October 5 in Downtown Beloit
Mid-States Concrete Industries is excited to once again participate in the Community Construction Zone. This free event, scheduled for Saturday, October 5 from 10 am - 2 pm on the Ironworks Campus on 4th Street in Downtown Beloit, offers kids of all ages an opportunity to discover and explore different careers within the construction industry.
The event is a partnership between CareerTek’s Dare to Dream and CCI’s Building the Future and features more than a dozen local businesses in the trades. Each business will have a booth with a hands-on activity, heavy equipment or both. Kids are encouraged to visit every booth and have their “time card punched,” which can be turned in for a “paycheck” in the form of a gift bag. Activities are offered in carpentry, concrete, masonry, demolition, surveying, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, paving, precast, roofing, heavy equipment, fire protection, building design, and more. Plus, enjoy a free hot dog lunch while you’re there!
New this year is a high school carpentry skills competition! Cheer on your favorite high schoolers as they test out their construction skills.
We hope to see you there! Find all the latest information on the event’s Facebook Page.
