MAINE WEST HIGH SCHOOL: DES PLAINES, ILLINOIS
When a school district outgrows its current space, a renovation project can’t happen soon enough. To accommodate a school district’s need for space at one of its high school buildings, approximately 42,000 square feet of insulated composite precast concrete wall panels were used to create a new, state-of-the-art field house for Maine West High School. The field house includes four basketball courts, an indoor track, a long jump area, and a batting cage that drops down from the ceiling, which will be enjoyed primarily by the school’s athletic teams, physical education classes and rented by athletic feeder programs.
