Mid-States Concrete is excited to be part of the $505 million, state-of-the-art Mercyhealth Women's and Children's Hospital and Medical Center project in Rockford.
The project - which is slightly ahead of schedule - should be complete in late 2018. When the campus opens, it will include a 451,000-square-foot, three-wing six story hospital and a five-story, 81,500-square-foot medical center, according to an article in the Rockford Register Star, published on April 19.
The medical center will feature a state-designated regional perinatal center, the highest level neonatal intensive care unit, pediatric and pediatric intensive care units, high-risk maternity care, and pediatric emergency services. It will also house a Level I trauma center; an adult sub-specialty hospital, including plastic and reconstructive surgery, brain and spine, endocrinology, orthopedics, pulmonology, and heart services; 192 inpatient beds; a diagnostic center; and cutting-edge operating suites.
Mid-States Concrete Industries will provide Insulated Wall Panels for the facility's Central Utility Plant. The utility plant is located behind the main building and will house all the mechanicals and utilities that will serve the new building. The 75 wall panels - roughly 14,261 square-feet - are scheduled for installation the week of May 8. The panels will feature a white cement with light blast and grey cement with light blast.
Mid-States Concrete is proud to be part of this project.
