Accomplishments
My biggest accomplishment is my family. My wife of 20 years and I have raised two smart, talented daughters. We just moved our oldest to UW-Madison to begin her freshman year and our youngest is a high school sophomore who loves volleyball. Over the years, I’ve spent a lot of time and energy doing little things to create excitement in their lives, like indulging a 12-year-old’s interest in Paris by building a two-story Eiffel Tower out of rebar to decorate our yard, or creating a ball-holding device to practice volleyball hitting.

Off the Clock
I spend my time outside of working doing DIY projects on my house, playing backyard volleyball with my daughter and her friends, going to my kids’ games and competitions, or playing fetch with my dog while sitting on my precast deck or patio (two of the aforementioned DIY projects) with a Corona.

Secret Life
A buddy and I once drove overnight from Wisconsin to New York City to pick up a wrecked Toyota Supra that we bought off eBay. Turns out, immediately after 9/11 you were not allowed to drive trailers through the Lincoln Tunnel. They will stop you. They will make you turn around. You will stop all traffic while trying to U-turn/back up said trailer.

Accomplishments
I did outside sales for over 20 years and loved it. I earned a Bahama cruise and a bonus that I used to put a down payment on my husband’s Trans Am. I sold brake cleaner to Architectural Precast Inc. and that is how I met Diane and Bub.

Extracurricular
I am a member of committees at my church - Albany United Methodist Church - and I also teach Sunday School.

Off the Clock
I love living out in the country with my husband and 17-year-old son Bryce. We have three cats and three dogs. I enjoy drinking sweet white wine and relaxing watching TV with my husband.

Secret Life
My grandma (mom’s mom) was an artist who illustrated a few books. I also had an uncle who won a bronze medal at the Olympics for ice sculpting.

Accomplishments
The highlight of my life is my family (I had a good husband and we had four girls and one boy) and getting together at my home with their families. Grandkids together with their cousins have a ball. I love hearing them laugh and play together. My husband and I have had the opportunity to travel to England, Germany, and Italy. Being bumped up to business class (the one where they treat you like royalty) once spoiled us. It was a wonderful experience.

Another highlight was, before my husband died, he arranged a surprise trip for us to fly to Salt Lake City and watch the Tabernacle Choir perform a Christmas show. I like the movie Pretty Woman and he was trying to imitate the part where she gets on a jet and flies to an opera. He told me to pack a bag and with at least one good outfit. I had no idea of any of this. We were both dressed, it was snowing, and I assumed I would be driving on slippery roads to somewhere. He called me down to the garage as it was time to go, and there outside of our door was a limousine, and the driver took my bag, opened the door for me, and drove us to the airport. Just like in the movie! Still not knowing anything until it happened, it was a very exciting time, especially when I found out where the plane was headed. When we arrived in Salt Lake, we were picked up at the door by a nephew who lived out there, took us to our hotel, on the top floor (penthouse I guess), they had a room with soups and salads and desserts, etc., pretty much all night long for only that floor. So we were definitely catered to. It was pretty cool! And for the show, our tickets were in the 10th row from the front. I love Christmas music and the decorations and everything that goes into Christmas, so this was a very special Christmas for me.

Off the Clock
I love spending time in my gardens. I have so many weeds a person would not think this is true. I love to be outside running equipment: skid loader, woodchipper, excavator, and even the riding mower. They help me accomplish a lot in my woods and yard. I can make rock walls and terraces. My woods and yard are my favorite places to be. At the end of the day, to sit and admire what I have accomplished, well, it is very satisfying to me. And it is how I get my exercise. I do love a good mystery book, but I hardly ever read because it is hard for me to stay awake after a few pages. I appreciate lots of varieties of music - Philharmonic Orchestra in the background of a good singer, and good country songs, and some oldies. It depends on my mood.
